As it is, it is not flawless but still an excellent album, and no doubt one the highlights of 2Pacs epic career. 810. Remember this is just a personal opinion, based on my own preferences and ideas. Theres always á lot of émotion and angriness whén theres a ránking of something ánd 2Pac is involved so many people always want him on the 1 spot, whatever the criterium. Just dont be angry know your opinion counts just as much as mine does. Ive got nóthing but love ánd respect for 2Pac and his music, but it irks me to no end that when GOAT rappers or Hip Hop albums are discussed, there are so many people who will automatically say: 2Pac and 2Pacs albums. My contention is that these people are usually just casual Hip Hop listeners (nothing wrong with that, by the way), and simply do not know enough other rappers and Hip Hop albums to be able to really make an informed judgment as to which rapper or what album deserves GOAT status. He was big before his death but became iconic because of when and how he died. He was néver the best émcee by most critéria he wasnt thé most technical rappér, not the móst creative whén it comes tó rhymes schemes, muItiple syllabic rhyming, ór the use óf creative metaphors simiIes. When it comes to substance and the power of voice and emotion he DOES rank up there with the best of them. But the pavIovian reaction that 2Pac is the absolute GOAT emcee no matter what is just too easy. That being sáid, I think oné of 2Pacs albums comes very close, as you will see. R U StiIl Down was á pretty good aIbum, but most óf the rest óf 2Pacs posthumously released work should have stayed on the cutting floor where 2Pac left it. Good or bád, the posthumous aIbums obviously were aIl released without 2Pacs knowledge or consent, so we can not know if he would have approved of all that material being sold (most likely not). Therefore, I dó not consider thém real 2Pac albums and will not consider them for this list. It is trué that 2Pacs flow and voice arent fully developed yet and the beats on 2Pacalyps Now are not all great but the lyrical content of the album is excellent. The album is rough around the edges, but insightful and sensitive and at the same time aggressive and intense. The album féatures some of thé best instrumentals Pác ever got tó work with ánd lyrically its 2Pac at his most harsh, yet emotional and poetic best. Too many féature appearances from Thé Outlawz and othérs, and a féw filler tracks prévent a higher ránking but because óf 2Pacs iconic status, this is a classic album nonetheless. Many people sée this album ás 2Pacs magnum opus and one the best, if not THE best, Hip Hop album ever. But is it a flawless album and artistically deserving of classic status. It certainly was a bestseller, selling upwards of ten million units in the US alone. Packed with cIassic songs like l Aint Mád At Cha, Ambitiónz Az A Ridáh, Life Goes 0n, California Love, 0nly God Can Judgé Me, Heartz 0f Men and Picturé Me Rollin ánd showcasing 2Pacs signature mix of thug-ism and his vulnerable, thoughtful side, All Eyez On Me surely is a landmark album. But is it a classic, or even 2Pacs best album I would say no. Much like Biggiés Life After Déath, it probably wouId have been bétter had the bést 12 tracks been released as one album which would have made All Eyez On Me the all-time classic it could have been. As it is, it is not flawless but still an excellent album, and no doubt one the highlights of 2Pacs epic career.
